What Node API is

Node API gives your backend access to our TRON full nodes. It is the API of the java-tron node itself: the same HTTP methods under /wallet/* and /walletsolidity/* and the same gRPC services, behind a key, with a quota and per-second limits set by your plan. Build and broadcast transactions through the node and sign them on your side. Your private key never leaves your server.

Addresses

/walletsolidity/* answers from solidified (confirmed) blocks only, as java-tron does. Every method the node serves on these two paths is available. HTTP accepts GET and POST: with GET the node reads the query string, with POST the JSON body — never both. Method names are case-sensitive, as in java-tron: /wallet/getaccount, but /wallet/getReward. Answers of 1 KB and more are gzip-compressed when the request carries Accept-Encoding: gzip. Most HTTP libraries send it by default; with curl, add --compressed.

1

Sign up or sign in at tronrental.com.
2

Choose a plan

Open Dashboard → Node API. Start the free 7-day trial (it unlocks after $5 in deposits) or buy a plan, paid from your account balance. See Plans and billing.
3

Create an endpoint

Add an endpoint: a name and, optionally, an IP allowlist. Each endpoint is its own key. The key is shown once — copy it and store it somewhere safe. See Endpoints and keys.
4

Make the first call

Send the key in the TRON-PRO-API-KEY header.
The answer is the node’s own JSON. The X-Node-API-WU response header says how many quota units the call cost — 1 for this one. See Quota units.

What is included

  • Every node method under /wallet/* and /walletsolidity/*, and the unary methods of the gRPC services protocol.Wallet and protocol.WalletSolidity.
  • The key in a header, in the URL path, or in gRPC metadata.
  • Up to 10 endpoints, depending on the plan, each with its own key, IP allowlist and usage counter.
  • Fresh blocks at a flat price: a block within 20 of the head costs 3 WU and its receipts 2 WU, whatever their size.
  • A soft limit on the Start, Growth and Pro plans: when the quota is used up, requests keep working, and the usage above it is billed as overage.
  • CORS, so browser apps can call the node directly.

What is not included

These are not part of the node API, so Node API does not offer them:
  • Address history and indexed data — transfers of an address, TRC-20 transfers by address, contract event queries (paths such as /v1/... and /event/...). Requests to them get 404 not_found. To follow transfers, read blocks and their receipts — see the Watch USDT example in Code examples.
  • JSON-RPC (/jsonrpc, eth_* methods) is not enabled.
  • Methods that take a private key, such as gettransactionsign or easytransferbyprivate. The node does not serve them; they get 404 method_not_found and cost nothing. Sign on your side.
  • Other gRPC services and gRPC server reflection. See gRPC.
To estimate the energy a contract call will use, call triggerconstantcontract with the same parameters and read energy_used from the answer.

Response headers

Over gRPC the same values come in trailing metadata: x-node-api-wu, x-node-api-mode, retry-after, and x-node-api-reason on a refusal.
