# Plans and Billing

> Node API plans, limits, overage, trial, renewal and how payment works

## Plans

| Plan | Price | Period | Quota | Reads | Block calls | Broadcasts | Endpoints | Over quota |
| - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - | - |
| Trial | free | 7 days | 5M WU | 20 WU/s | 1/s | 2/s | 1 | refused with `429` |
| Start | 19.90 USDT | 30 days | 30M WU | 30 WU/s | 1/s | 5/s | 3 | 0.80 USDT per 1M WU |
| Growth | 49 USDT | 30 days | 85M WU | 60 WU/s | 2/s | 10/s | 5 | 0.70 USDT per 1M WU |
| Pro | 149 USDT | 30 days | 270M WU | 150 WU/s | 5/s | 30/s | 10 | 0.60 USDT per 1M WU |
| Node slot | 1.50 USDT per 1 WU/s | 30 days | no quota | 50–300 WU/s | 5/s | 30/s | 10 | — |

* **Reads** — every call that is neither a block nor a broadcast, limited in WU per second.
* **Block calls** — whole blocks, block receipts and block ranges, limited in calls per second.
* **Broadcasts** — `broadcasttransaction`, `broadcasthex` and gRPC `BroadcastTransaction`, limited in
  transactions per second.

The quota and the limits belong to the plan and are shared by all its endpoints. How the limits are
applied and what a refusal looks like: [Limits and errors](/node-api/errors). How a call is weighed:
[Quota units](/node-api/quota-units).

The current prices and limits are always available without a key from the plan catalog at the end of
this page. If they ever differ from this table, the catalog and the dashboard are right.

### Node slot

A node slot has no quota: you buy a fixed read rate from 50 to 300 WU/s and make as many requests as
that rate allows, all period long. The price is 1.50 USDT per 1 WU/s — for example, 100 WU/s costs
150 USDT for 30 days. Block calls, broadcasts and endpoints are as on Pro.

### Trial

The trial is free: 7 days, 5M WU, 20 WU/s and one endpoint. It unlocks once the confirmed deposits on
your account reach \$5 — USDT at face value, TRX at the deposit rate; the money stays on your balance.
One trial per account, and only before the account's first plan.

The trial has no overage: when its quota is used up, requests get `429 quota`. When the 7 days end,
the key stops working (`403 plan_expired`). To continue without a break, buy a plan — it starts right
away, and unused trial time does not carry over.

> [!NOTE]
>
> All trials together share a common capacity. At busy moments a trial request may get `429 trials`;
> retry after the `Retry-After` seconds. Paid plans are not affected.

## Paying

Prices are in US dollars (USDT). We charge them in TRX from your TronRental balance, at the rate at the
moment of each charge — the same rate as for USDT deposits. The TRX amount of a renewal can therefore
differ from the one you paid before. Every charge, with its USDT price, rate and TRX amount, is listed
under **Charges** in [Dashboard → Node API](https://tronrental.com/dashboard/node-api). Only the account
owner can buy a plan.

**Discount for energy buyers.** If the account bought energy for 3,000 TRX or more in the last 30
days, any plan costs 19.90 USDT less (never below zero). We check this at every purchase and every
renewal.

## Quota and overage

The quota is per period. On Start, Growth and Pro the quota is a soft limit: when it is used up,
requests keep being served within the same per-second limits of the plan. The WU used above the quota
are **overage**, billed per WU at the plan's overage price from the table above: 250,000 WU above the
quota cost a quarter of the price per 1M WU.

* Overage is charged from your balance **once a day, at 00:00 UTC**, for the previous UTC day.
* Requests above the quota are allowed only while your balance covers their overage. When it no
  longer does, they are refused with `429 overage_budget` until you top up; a top-up opens them again
  within about a minute.
* If the balance covers only part of a day's overage, the rest is charged after your next top-up. Unpaid
  overage stays owed after the subscription ends and is charged from the next top-up.

A node slot has no quota and no overage. The trial has a quota and no overage.

## Renewal

A paid plan lasts 30 days. With **auto-renew** on (the default when you buy in the dashboard), the plan
renews at the end of the period for its price in TRX at that day's rate. With auto-renew off, the
subscription ends with the period.

**Changing the plan.** A new plan takes effect at the next renewal; until then your current plan
stays. Endpoints are kept. If the new plan allows fewer endpoints than you have switched on, at renewal
we switch off the least used ones of the period (`403 key_disabled`) — delete the extra endpoints
beforehand to choose yourself. Switched-off endpoints can be switched on again within the plan's
limit.

## When a renewal cannot be paid

| Status | What happens | Your keys |
| - | - | - |
| Unpaid | The balance did not cover the renewal. We try again every minute; after a top-up the plan renews from the moment of payment, and the days without access are not charged | Refused with `403 plan_expired` |
| Ended | Seven days without payment, auto-renew off, or the trial is over. Buy a plan to continue | Refused with `403 plan_expired`; endpoints are kept and work again after you buy a plan |

We notify you by email and Telegram when a renewal fails, when an unpaid subscription ends, and when the
balance no longer covers overage.

## Plan catalog

The plan catalog is public and needs no key:

```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.tronrental.com/v1/node-api/plans
```

It returns `sales_enabled`, the list `plans` (for each: `plan`, `price` and `final_price` in `usdt` and
`trx`, `period_days`, `quota_wu`, `read_wu_s`, `block_rps`, `write_tps`, `overage_per_1m_wu`,
`endpoints`), the node slot offer in `slot` (`price_per_wu_s`, `min_wu_s`, `max_wu_s`, `block_rps`,
`write_tps`, `endpoints` and priced `options`), the current `rate_usd_per_trx` and a `discount` block.
TRX amounts are at the current rate and change with it. Called with your REST API key in `X-API-Key`,
`final_price` and `discount` show your account's discount.
